Hunting Raven bookshop has made the regional shortlist for British Independent Bookshop of the Year for the third consecutive year.
Bursting with brilliant indie bookshops, the South West region boasts the longest shortlist outside of London. The regional winners of the competition, run by The Bookseller magazine, will go on to compete for the overall title of British Independent Bookshop of the Year in May.
Manager, Tina Gaisford-Waller said, “It’s so exciting to be shortlisted for a third time. We really love what we do, and work hard to keep improving the shop and the events programme wherever we can. Though the competition is really fierce, we’re keeping our fingers crossed that it’ll be a case of third time lucky.”
In forming the shortlist, there was a strong focus on the contribution bookshops are making within their communities. Earlier this year, Hunting Raven featured in the Bookseller Association’s ‘Year in Review’ as an example of an independent bookshop doing just that through its Books Against Loneliness campaign.
