FROME Fire Station opened it doors to the public last weekend for a special fundraising open day.
The open day raised £1,300 for the Firefighters Charity which helps injured firefighters and their families. There were rescue demonstrations, children’s challenges, a barbecue, coconut shy, raffle, face painting and much more.
Frome fire fighter Esther Doel said, “Frome Fire Station would like to thank everyone who came to our open day last Saturday and helped us raise over £1,310 for the Firefighters Charity. This is a fantastic amount which will be put to good use in helping injured firefighters and their families.
“We were overwhelmed by the support and all the people who showed interest in our work.
“We would also like to thank all the local businesses and organisations who helped – Cayfords Butchers, Penleigh Butchers, Tesco Express, Lloyds Pharmacy, Co-op Culverhill, Marks and Spencer, Sainsburys, Boots, Costa, Castello Restaurant, Domino’s Pizza, Kingfisher Fish and Chips, G Lucas Chimney Sweep, Bee Something Facepainting, Dave Page, Frome Police, Frome Town Archers and 10th Frome Scout Group.”
