A Frome musical duo is set to release their debut album after collaborating on and off for three decades.
Singer Briony Walley and multi-instrumentalist Dave Clark, who perform as Dexters Extra Breakfast, will launch the new record, Fine Without, following support from local venues and musicians in the town. The release features the single Home and Dry, which explores themes of finding love.
A spokesperson for Dexters Extra Breakfast said, “Spanning 30-odd years of songwriting, this album is a document and a journey. These songs are about love and other aspects of the human condition. There is a family at the heart of this album dealing with the joys and burdens of love and the awful news coming from further off.
“It was nurtured by the vibrant musical community of Frome. In particular Handsome Llama Studios, Roots Sessions and Acoustic Plus are remembered with great fondness.”
The album will be released on Thursday 1st October.
CD copies of the album will be sold exclusively in Frome at the Blue Cross shop in the Westway Shopping Centre and the Owl shop on Catherine Hill.
The pair credited musician Richard Kennedy with reviving the project after work on the record stalled. The album was mixed and mastered by Will Angeloro.
