FROME bowler, Duncan McGovern, was crowned champion at the county singles competition at Taunton Deane bowls club, representing Clarrie Dunbar.
Duncan said, “I avenged my defeat in last year’s final with a 21-5 win over ex-England international John Hick, who was admittedly not at his best.
“Clarrie Dunbar pair of John Freeman and Keith Bailey also won the county pairs final, beating a Taunton pair 18-14.”
