Kevin Withers from Frome signed up for the PAC team that ran the Frome Triathlon on Sunday 18th August.
Kevin had run road races before, but having seen the advert in the local paper decided he wanted a new challenge and this seemed to fit the bill.
Kevin said, “Training had been going well although I have had to cope with pedals falling off and even my shorts elastic breaking mid run!!! (very embarrassing). I wanted to be part of the PAC team because I have had family members who have suffered from cancer and cancer charities need all the help they can get.
“PAC is a local charity and I have supported them before, most notably when I was part of the cast of ‘Calendar Girls’ that shed their clothes for the 2012 calendar to raise money for the charity. (Yes that is me holding the rugby ball in the month of September!!).”
Kelly Lewis, fundraising assistant at PAC said, “We really appreciate people like Kevin taking on these challenges for us and raising much needed funds.”
Kevin finished the race in 1hr 56min 59seconds. You can still sponsor Kevin on his Just Giving page, please visit www.justgiving.com/Kevin-Withers1.
