A TEACHER from Frome College has been presented with a national Anti-Bullying Alliance School Staff Award for his efforts in preventing, responding to and raising awareness of bullying.
Head of performing arts at the college, Josh Hampson, was chosen out of over 400 nominations for the secondary school award. It was presented during the Anti-Bullying Alliances’s Anti-Bullying Week, last month, at a parliamentary event by the Minister for Children and Families, MP David Johnston.
Josh said, “As a music teacher, I strive to create a safe and inclusive space where every voice is heard and celebrated. Receiving this national anti-bullying award is not just an honour for me, it’s a reminder that compassion and respect can transform lives. I hope this award inspires others to stand up against bullying and embrace the beauty of diversity.”
Pupils nominate their teachers for the award and winners are decided by a panel of children and young people. The School Staff Award celebrates teachers and school staff who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to prevent and respond to bullying and to raise awareness of bullying in their school community.
The Anti-Bullying Alliance’s theme for this year’s week-long event was Make A Noise About Bullying.
