The Frome Community Bike Project is looking for two people to join its board of directors and help make a difference to the community.
The project is working hard to support and encourage people to cycle more for everyday journeys by providing advice and affordable bikes, repairs and servicing.
They also support Frome’s Missing Links, which is creating traffic-free routes in and around Frome for all to enjoy. This includes creating a traffic-free pathway from Welshmill Lane to the Colliers Way cycle path in Great Elm, providing an unbroken route between Frome and Radstock.
“Rather than advertise for a particular role, we are keen to hear from anyone interested in being part of our team and exploring what skills and interests you might be able to bring to the board,” said a member of the team, Jenna.
“This is a chance to get involved and shape the direction of the Frome Community Bike Project, ensuring that we continue to support our community to choose to travel actively, sustainably and healthily both now and in the future.”
Frome Community Bike Project Director Emma Parker said, “The role only requires you to spare a couple of hours a quarter for board meetings (all fuelled by plenty of tea and biscuits of course!) and some volunteering at our events or in the workshop, all very fun and fulfilling!
“We don’t require someone with loads of board experience, just someone who’s passionate about active travel and community.”
If you’re interested in joining the board of directors, please visit https://www.fromebikeproject.org/what-we-do/work-with-us/ for information on how you can apply.
The deadline to apply is Sunday 7th September and if you have any questions about the role, please email emma@fromebikeproject.org.
