Frome Town Council is calling for organisations experienced in providing exciting, fun activities for young people to put forward their proposals for the town.
Research conducted by the town council at the end of last year revealed that young people in Frome feel there are few places they can go or things to do that develop their interests outside school.
Cuts in services provided by other bodies like the county council has led to a reduction in the amount of free or affordable activities that young people can get involved in.
Frome Town Council believes that young people should have every opportunity to develop their interests and skills outside school. This prepares them for a good transition to adulthood and the world of work.
The town council has funds available to support the provision of free activities in neighbourhood locations. A particular target is activities for the 14 plus age group.
Any organisations who feel they have something to offer should download the service specification from the town council website: www.frometown council.gov.uk or by contacting community project officer, Tessa Hibbert, on 01373 475574 or hibb ertt@frometowncouncil. gov.uk. Deadline for proposals is 9th June 2014.
