FROME fitness teacher Gina Fry has been working with top professional dancers made famous by the world of TV – namely Ian Waite and Natalie Lowe of the hit BBC show Strictly Come Dancing.
FitSteps is the new dance fitness exercise programme sweeping the UK. Designed and choreographed by two of BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing’s best-loved professional dancers, Ian Waite and Natalie Lowe, it combines fitness and dance together to create an exhilarating and exciting programme which makes you feel like you are dancing with the stars.
Frome fitness instructor Gina Fry has been involved with the programme since before its UK launch and was on the very first instructor training day. Having passed the day and then auditioned to become part of the master trainer team, she now is a trainer and travels the UK helping to train new instructors to become FitSteps teachers.
Gina also runs BODYbasics Fitness Studio at Frome Football Club, and there are three FitSteps classes per week currently on the programme; Monday mornings at 10.00am, Tuesday evenings at 7.30pm and Friday evenings at 6.00pm.
Gina explains, “Everyone is welcome to join and there are a range of modifications offered, so that the class can be danced on multi-levels to suit different people’s abilities. Fitsteps is danced solo – you do not need a partner, however, you are taught correct dance steps, styles and techniques, allowing for the skills you learn to be translated to couple dancing should the opportunity arise!”
