THE Frome Kindness Festival is launching the Kind Bank, a vibrant festival hub set in the heart of town.
Located in the former HSBC building next to the Boyle Cross, Kind Bank offers a unique twist on traditional banking by dealing exclusively in acts of kindness rather than cash.
Kind Bank will be open daily from 10am to 4pm during the festival, which runs from Saturday 16th March to Friday 22nd March. “All are welcome to drop by and experience the joy of kindness in action,” says Gemma Annan from The Good Heart, the team organising the festival.
“Volunteers have worked hard to transform the disused building into a welcoming and beautiful space, where visitors can enjoy a variety of free activities and experiences, including signing up for festival events, exploring the pop-up Museum of Kindness, as well as opening a “Thank Account” (rather than bank account) and investing time in local charities.
“Throughout the festival, Kind Bank will host a range of activities, including a story-writing session highlighting acts of kindness, a postcard-writing station for refugees, pop-up concerts, a weaving workshop and film night!”
Kind Bank manager Jessica Francombe said, “We’re thrilled to introduce Kind Bank as the headquarters of this year’s Frome Kindness Festival. It’s a place where people of all ages can come together to celebrate kindness and compassion in our community.”
