FROME Lions president, Beverley Windley, accompanied by Lions Keith McLeod, Clive Smith and Mike Geake visited Dorothy House Hospice on Tuesday 28th February to present them with a cheque for £2,000.
The money came from proceeds from the donations made to the Lions Tree of Remembrance which was erected at Rook Lane Chapel over the Christmas period to remember loved ones and causes at this special time of year. Donations were received from as far away as Australia and all over the UK.
A Frome Lions spokesperson said, “The Lions Club of Frome is indebted to all those that made donations as well as NVB Architects for allowing the tree to be erected at Rook Lane Chapel and the use of their electricity and to the Mendip Christmas Tree Farm at Dean who generously donated the tree which has meant that all money raised by the event has been donated to Dorothy House.”
