Frome Community Trust has announced that applications are now open for grants for community organisations and groups in Frome and the local villages.
A total of around £4,500 is available, raised entirely by the proceeds of the Frome Community Lottery. Grants are typically given for between £200 and £2,000 and are for the development of community facilities in the local area.
Chair of the Trust, Sue Worringham said, “All the money we are able to give out comes from the proceeds of the Frome Community Lottery. We are extremely grateful to all our supporters who play the community lottery every week, as 50% of their weekly stake of £1 comes back to Frome, to support local groups. They also have a chance to win cash prizes of up to £25,000!”
Players who wish to join the lottery can pick up a leaflet at Frome library or the Town Hall or join through the Trust’s website.
Last year, the community lottery was able to support local organisations with several projects including the refurbishment of toilets at Nunney Village Hall, shelving for Fair Frome, a laptop for Frome Community Cars and projection facilities for community education at the Cheese and Grain.
Application forms, which must be returned by 4th May, are available from the Trust’s website – www.fromecommunity trust.btck.co.uk or by emailing Hilary.gilmore@ btinternet.com
