FROME RFC played host to the Annual Paul Lovatt Cup Town vs Gown fixture on 27th December.
The match, which has been a festive treat for many years, sees returning players back for the holidays to face a Frome select XV.
The club would like to thank everybody involved; it was great to see so many returning players, friends and family who all enjoyed the festive fun with a few ports and mince pies during the game. It was a fun contest throughout with tries a plenty, and although the Gowns scored later in the game, it was the Town XV who fought hard to come back for the win and the bragging rights for the year.
In other news the Frome RFC senior sides are back in league action this week when the 1st XV travel to Sherborne RFC in Friday night (7th) in South West 1 East.
The 2nd XV welcome Trowbridge RFC 2nd XV on Saturday 8th January and will look to continue their winning ways in Dorset & Wilts 1 North with a top of the table clash.
The Frome RFC 3rd XV are also at home on the 8th when they welcome Wincanton RFC 1st XV to The Lane.
