Frome found themselves under pressure right from the kick off; Dorchester were quick to close down and seemed content to hit long high balls resulting in fast pace chases with little footballing skill.
The first ten minutes seemed kick and rush and, on thirteen minutes, Frome’s Jackson on the edge of Dorchester penalty area had first glimpse of a chance but was crowded out. Dorchester hit straight back at Town and saw a well hit shot by Walker palmed away by Chitty for a corner.
Davis and Jackson hit over the bar within the next couple of minutes. Frome’s best move of the match happened in the 25th minute when Miller’s good work on the wing and pass to Davis saw a great ball for Jackson, who sidefooted the ball towards goal only to see keeper Murphy make a fingertip save.
On 29 minutes Jermyne saw his shot tipped over the bar by Chitty. Dorchester scored on 32 minutes through Walker, who lobbed over Chitty from outside the box. Miller was booked for tripping on 41 minutes and, from the resulting free kick, the ball found its way to Mateus who gleefully fired home against his old club.
The second half saw Frome make a sub with Summers being replaced by Mapstone. Green was then booked for dissent two minutes into the half. Niggling fouls started to creep into the game and there were contant stoppages for petty fouls. Gregan was replaced by Kirby in the 65th minute in an attempt to rescue the game.
Alas, it wasn’t to be and in fact got worse with Green receiving a second yellow and a sending off. The 83rd minute saw Walker with a towering header score into the top corner to make it 3-0 to the visitors.
Dorchester then made 3 subs in three minutes to soak up some time. With the game edging towards time Walker scored his third goal of the game in the 89th minute to make the final score 4-0 to the visitors.
