Frome Town Council is delighted to announce that new websites Frome Community and Discover Frome have gone live.
The ambitious and creative new sites replace the previous Frome Town Council site and the council is delighted with the work of local web designer ‘Zonkey’ who were tasked with the job.
The Frome Community website is a resource for the whole community. In addition to new information on the town council and community projects, you will find a directory of local services, facilities and local news. Frome Community also provides a searchable database on available business space in the town – a first for Frome.
Discover Frome is tailored for the visitor and is packed with information on events, accommodation and places to visit. There is no doubt Frome has become a visitor hot spot for the Somerset area in the last few years, and this website is intended to take that one step further driving more visitors to the town.
Both sites were designed to be easy to use and simple to update, meaning community news and events can be added to the site with a moment’s notice. The sites are reactive – they are easy to use on all devices whether mobile, tablet or PC. Overall the flexibility and design of the sites should make Frome stand head and shoulders above similar sites in the region and Frome Town Council couldn’t be more pleased.
Councillor Mel Usher, leader of the council said, “When we started work on these sites our intention was to dramatically improve the availability of local information for residents and visitors alike. I hope people feel that we have achieved that.
“We want to keep these sites fresh and so please let us know if you have any news, events or other content you would like to see included.
“A new feature of these sites is the ability to send us your ideas online so please make use of this facility. Alternatively, contact our information centre directly either in person or at info@frome towncouncil.gov.uk or on 01373 465757. We’d love to hear what you think. Please click on www.discoverfrome.co.uk and www.frometowncouncil.gov.uk – Explore and enjoy!”
