Are you aged between 10 and 21? Do you live in Frome? Have you got a great idea you need support to achieve? – Well maybe the Frome Youth Bank is exactly what you need …
The Frome Youth Bank is an exciting new funding opportunity, created to help young people to reach their goals.
The Frome Town Council initiative was established this year following their review of existing services for young people in the town.
This pot of money is available to support a range of youth led projects with grants of up to £1,000 each; the applications must come from young people themselves. Frome Town Council particularly wants to hear from young people under 21 whose projects achieve one of the following objectives:
• Support young people to organise positive activities for other young people to get involved in • Allow young people to meet, and get to know, other, older people within the community • Allow young people to have a say in services that affect them, like schools, health, and local government.
Grant decisions will be made by a panel of young people who believe that these ‘positive activities’ are educational and fun, and that they make best use of young people’s free time, helping them be physically, mentally, and emotionally more healthy and engaged in their community.
Examples of projects that could be considered for funding are • A dance or drama performance • A trip or residential • A volunteering project • Photography exhibition • Awareness raising campaign • Fun day in the local park. The application form and terms and conditions can be found on the Frome Town Council website: www.frometowncouncil. gov.uk/community-grants
