Frome Youth Choir – All aboard the 17.30 to Wesley Church Hall!

AFTER a long break because of the pandemic, members of Frome Youth Choir are chuff-chuff-chuffed that they will be singing together again from Thursday 22 September.

The choir is for young people in and around Frome aged 6-14 years and is run by Frome resident and musical director, Steph Collishaw, who has been teaching music locally for over two decades.

She said, “We sing lots of different music, learning pieces by ear and through games and fun exercises. The choir’s aim is to support young people’s musical understanding and appreciation of their own and each other’s voices. It’s a great way to develop concentration and focus whilst still having fun and meeting new people.

“We have some wonderful music to share with our young singers this term and will be preparing for our special winter concert on Saturday 3 December – it’s one of the highlights of the year for me and the children.

“There are still some spaces for children wishing to join this term. Parents and guardians can contact me at youthchoirfrome@ gmail.com to register their child/ren or to find out more. The first session is free for new members.

“The choir will be meeting in its new venue – Wesley Church Hall on Wesley Slope – each Thursday from 22 September from 17.15 (for a 17.30 start) to 18.45. A term costs £49.50 for 11 sessions, which includes refreshments at each session and a rehearsal on the day of the winter concert.”
