FROME Town Council’s new community engagement officers, Emily Osler and Liz Stone, are making their way around Frome, speaking to residents about the things that matter to them.
The information gathered from residents will form part of the council’s plans for activities and actions around the town.
Liz said, “People have been really generous with their time and happy to chat with us about all sorts, from what’s going on in their street to the issues that are important for their families right now.”
Emily commented, “We will be working extra hard to ensure we can reach people whose voices are less often heard. Talking with people in their communities builds trust and helps us hear directly from a wide range of people in different areas of the town. Stop us to say hello if you see us out in your area.”
Liz was also found at last week’s Kindness Festival, reading a series of kindness-themed stories to youngsters at 4pm each day.
In addition to working door-to-door, Liz, Emily and the council’s community team will be hosting a series of neighbourhood pop-up events in the coming weeks and months. Details will be available in the Frome Times, Frome Town Council Facebook and frometowncouncil.gov.uk.
