Memorial Theatre, Frome, has received a donation of £5,000 from the Wainwright Futures Foundation.
Trustees and volunteers expressed their delight at the donation, saying, “We have many ways to spend such a generous donation, but after a particularly warm summer air conditioning is high on our agenda of priorities.
“Air conditioning is very expensive, particularly a large area such as our theatre. The theatre trustees are currently seeking quotations to install air conditioning and once an acceptable quotation is received, we will launch an appeal.
“Peter Barkwill CEO of John Wainwright & Co Ltd would be more than happy for their £5,000 to be used to launch such an appeal. Peter wrote to us saying ‘The Wainwright Futures Foundation is delighted to support the Frome Memorial Theatre in its fund-raising efforts. The theatre is a great asset for Frome and an important community facility. The small team who run the theatre do a superb job! It was our pleasure to make this donation knowing it will be used to enhance the theatre further for all those who visit. Keep up the good work!’”
