THERE wasn’t an empty seat in the house for Frome Musical Theatre Company’s performance of Grease which wowed audiences earlier this month.
All six performances of the sell-out show were a huge triumph, with audiences on their feet dancing and singing along and applauding the talented group of actors.
The show saw the theatre company perform all the hits from the original high school musical including, ‘You’re the One That I Want’, ‘Grease Is The Word’, ‘Summer Nights’, ‘Hopelessly Devoted To You’, ‘Sandy’, ‘Greased Lightnin’ and many more.
Audiences wasted no time in praising the theatre group on social media. One person wrote, “I went to see Grease at Frome Memorial Theatre last night. Brilliant, so slick, full of energy and totally professional. The dancing and singing was brilliant. Congratulations to Frome Musical Theatre Company, another triumph!”
Another wrote, “Fantastic performance of Grease last night. Amazed by the standard of all the cast; amateur? I don’t think so; this was fit for the West End! Congratulations to you all.”
Another said, “Wow, just wow! That was amazing! Everyone involved in Grease should be so proud of yourselves, that was incredible.”
And another said, “Wow! What an amazing show. So much talent on one stage. Really enjoyed the show tonight….YOU ROCK!”
Wayne Kelly who played Eugene said, “I was so thrilled by all the positive comments received by so many people who attended the sell-out performances. I really enjoyed working with such a young and vibrant fun-loving cast. Playing the humorous character of Eugene has given me greater confidence to perhaps play comic roles in future productions.”
Ross Turnball who played Kenickie said, “Being in Grease has been incredible and performing to a sold-out audience every night was amazing. At the end of each night they were on their feet singing and dancing along with us, it really has become one of my favourite memories.”
