Have your say on travel, transport and getting around

Residents are invited to share their views and experiences of how they move and travel around Frome and surrounding areas as part of a new travel and transport plan.

The new Frome Area Movement and Place Plan is being developed by Frome Town Council with Somerset Council and neighbouring parishes.

It will look at how people move around Frome and the surrounding area, how communities are connected and how access to jobs, education, healthcare, shops, services and leisure opportunities can be improved.

During summer there will be opportunities for residents to share their views on issues such as walking, cycling, public transport, road safety, accessibility, parking and connections between villages and nearby towns.

The project team is arranging visits across Frome and the surrounding area, meeting with parish councils, community groups, businesses and residents to hear about local experiences, challenges and priorities. There is also a survey on the My Frome platform, open to anyone who would like to share their views.

Cllr Steve Tanner said, “How easy is it for you to get around? Can you access the services you need? Does your street feel safe and enjoyable? What works well and what could be improved?

“Our town is growing and we need to better understand how people travel and the challenges they face, whether on foot, by bike, public transport, mobility aid or car. Whether it’s a difficult junction, gaps in walking and cycling routes, concerns about public transport, challenges accessing services or ideas for improving local streets and spaces, we want to hear from you about what works, what doesn’t, and what you’d like to see in the future.”
