Spotlight Pete Gage:
What Business are you involved with?.…. I am a blues musician. I play piano, and I sing, and I have my own band that regularly plays in Frome, at the Cornerhouse, Bath Street. Next gig there will be on Friday 31st May. I also work as a keyboard player in other musicians’ bands, next one in Frome with Billyboy Miskimmin’s band supporting the great Nick Lowe on Monday 27th May at the Cheese and Grain.
Why Frome?……. I’m originally a Londoner who came to Frome from Wandsworth in the middle 80’s to avoid the “rat-race” of London, and so that my two daughters could get schooling in a small school like the one in Chapmanslade where we initially set up home.
Favourite Frome thing….. It has to be the off-beat character of the residents that the town attracts. The town itself has its own great character, and a very interesting history that has made room for such a variety of very talented artistic people here.
Little known fact…… Although musically I am involved with all things blues-y and roots-y, I am a fanatical mastermind about obscure classical music. I listen all the time.
