FROME nurse specialist, Geoff Hooper, will be attempting to swim 1km in the coldest water he has ever faced, to raise money for Dorothy House Hospice.
In his day job, Geoff helps to look after patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families in Frome and the surrounding villages, working with the GP and district nurse teams.
In his spare time he likes to swim, with his wife and some hardy friends, all year round in Vobster Quays, a flooded quarry, in Portishead.
On Saturday 16th December he will be attempting to swim 1km in the coldest water he has ever been in, to raise money for Dorothy House Hospice.
