THIS Saturday 16th July, the free annual Inspire music festival will be held in Warminster town park, and everyone’s invited.
Live music will kick off at 1pm and continue through the whole of the afternoon until 7pm. Everyone is invited to bring along camping chairs and picnics to ensure they are comfortable for the duration!
In addition to the main attractions there will be a licensed bar provided by Dan of the award-winning Organ Inn, and refreshments from the Field Kitchen and Pavilion Café. It’s a free event so just sit back and enjoy.
Be sure to pay a visit to the Lakeside Community Centre for a hands-on session in our free music workshops provided by a selection of our fabulous acts and All Instruments of Westbury.
Founded in 2012, Inspire’s mission statement is ‘To try to inspire anybody, young or old, to learn to play an instrument. If Inspire can inspire just one person to want to play, then that is a job done.’ Thus, there will be an assortment of local musicians with enough variety to please all palates:
Ben and Tim: the much-loved acoustic duo who provide something for everyone. They are well established on the local music scene with many years of experience under their belts. Fun and dynamic, they will be sure to set the party mood for the rest of the day.
Outline: an up and coming acoustic duo who make use of two guitars, two voices and a loop station. They take influence from Ed Sheeran and other contemporary stars, as well as bringing a modern twist to classic tracks by artists such as Stevie Wonder.
Chloё-Marie: a singer/songwriter and pianist from Warminster, with a passion for music which sees her both teaching and performing, as well as writing songs and soundtracks for various productions including television and local art installations. Many liken her and her music to Adele and Stevie Nicks – even Lady Gaga! Her natural, soulful style is both laid-back and inviting – ideal for a summer’s afternoon!
In keeping with Inspire’s mission statement, two young bands supported by Kingdown School will play, and are excited to showcase their talents:
Rose Between Two Thorns: an all-female trio of talented musicians who recently won Kingdown’s Battle of the bands.
Six Feet Under: a five-piece band founded in 2013. The boys describe their style as ‘in your face alternative rock’ with influences from the grunge scene of the 1980s/90s.
The afternoon will finish off in style with the rocking rhythms of headline act State of Quo – the UK’s premier Status Quo tribute act, hailed by Classic Rock Magazine as ‘easily the best Quo tribute act going.’
‘Nuff said!
