A MEMBER of the Frome Amateur Operatic Society (FAOS) has been accepted into the prestigious Guildford School of Acting to study an MA in musical theatre.
Already set to star as Charity in the FAOS performance of ‘Sweet Charity’, Nicole Wooldridge was accepted into the acting school with around 20 others, out of thousands of applicants from across the country.
Nicole is now looking to fund the £14,275 fees for the 14-month intensive course through charities and local businesses. She said, “I am over the moon to be accepted, I still cannot believe it, but I am now looking to raise the funds to pay for my tuition.”
Nicole is currently studying drama and theatre at Royal Holloway in London. She applied to study a Masters degree to the Guildford School of Acting after reading that it was one of the most prestigious acting schools in the country.
“It was a hard selection process but I thought it would be a good experience and then see what happened.” said Nicole. “I am a little nervous about starting, but I am putting on fundraising events to help with my tuition.”
Nicole has been involved with FAOS for around nine years and has performed in pantomimes, plays and performances for most of her life, as well as teaching at Danceworks in Frome.
Nicole will be holding fundraising events including the arduous Three Peaks Challenge – climbing Ben Nevis, Snowdon and Scafell Pike – in 24 hours. She is also planning a musical concert for later in the year.
On the 7th of May, Nicole will be holding her first bake sale from 9.30am – 12.00pm at the Rugby Club in Frome, which will then be held every Saturday.
