Have you ever tried wheelchair basketball? It is a fun, active team sport which is exciting, dramatic and extremely inclusive (no disability is needed to play).
Organisers say, “With teams of 5-8, you’ll quickly learn the fundamentals of moving around in a sports wheelchair, before playing against other teams for bragging rights (and medals). You’re 100% guaranteed to have a wheely good time!
“The event will support fundraising efforts for local not-for-profit Purple Elephant and Nova Sports and Coaching. Both work with the most vulnerable people in Frome to increase their opportunities and improve their lifestyles.
“Come along to Frome Sport and Fitness Centre on Monday 28th October. The fun lasts from 1.30pm to 4.30pm. As well as the wheelchair basketball, there will also be food, soft drinks and a raffle to indulge in as well as lots of activities for the kids. The event is during half term so why not invite the whole family along. To enter a team costs just £50 with every penny going towards helping local people of Frome. For everyone else, it’s just £1 per person.”
