Last chance to catch first Frome printmaker exhibition as Café supports local artist

Art-lovers should make time to head to Café La Strada in Cheap Street to soak up a free exhibition with their coffee. 

Local printmaker Jen Chow, who trained in Visual Arts in Canada, has hung 16 of her original works on both floors and is inviting the community to come and see her work.

Jen Chow has been working with the Frome Artist Printmakers group in Eagle Lane since she moved to the town 15 years ago, but decided to hold her first ever show here this year.

She explained, “As I could see a series of work forming, I decided to work towards having an exhibition. I wanted to show my prints locally so I approached Jude at Café La Strada, knowing that she is supportive of local artists.”

The result is a beautiful collection of images inspired by Jen Chow’s other work as a professional gardener. She said,  “It’s through my day to day life that my inspiration comes as I have an abundance of material to draw ideas from, whether it’s wild flowers, vegetables or access to beautiful views.” There are also prints featuring her young daughter.

The exhibition runs until Sunday 29th March and is totally free.
