THE AVR Wiltshire Half Marathon, held in Edington near Westbury, offered the last opportunity in the local area for Frome Running Club members to grab a personal best time or, failing that, a best time for 2014.
And lots of runners in red, yellow and black did bag their best times on the undulating course that is marshalled and organised by members of local Wiltshire running club, Avon Valley Runners.
First home for Frome was Peter Larman (MV40) 1:27:44 PB, followed by Stuart Clarke (SM) 1:32:41, Lee Stone (SM) 1:33:19, Alex Chesterton (MV40) 1:39:25, Caroline Rea (SF) 1:40:29, Steve Carroll (MV50) 1:41:06, Justin Worringham (MV60) 1:41:14, Debbie Craven Smith (FV40) 1:51:16, Nathaniel Collier (SM) 1:53:00 PB, Christopher Fleming (MV40) 1:53:06, Christopher Steele (MV50) 1:53:07, Ade Marchment (MV50) 1:54:09, Nick Jones (MV50) 1:58:41, Graham Farley (MV40) 2:01:07, Andrew Barton (MV40) 2:04:33 PB, Angela Smith (FV50) 2:11:25, Mark Lofthouse (MV40) 2:18:30.
Meanwhile, at the weekly Southwick Parkrun 5k, Lee Stone (SM) led the Frome runners home in 20:10, followed by Lynn Brand (FV50) 24:55, Sarah Barry (FV40) 26:30, Mark Thomas (SM) 28:57, Rachel Brenni (FV40) 29:12, Debbie Craven Smith (FV40) 31:05.
