Local people with ideas for starting their own business are being invited to join Edventure’s next Enterprising Together course, which begins this September, with enrolment open now.
James from Edventure said: “Many people have ideas they’d love to pursue but struggle to get started. Enterprising Together gives them dedicated time, practical workshops and peer support to take real steps towards turning their idea into a business.”
The course runs weekly on Fridays from 11th September 2026 to 29th January 2027, from 9.15am to 2.45pm at the Edventure Hub in Frome.
Sessions cover topics including business planning, finance, marketing and branding, while giving participants dedicated time each week to develop and test their business ideas.
Previous participants have come from a wide range of backgrounds. Some joined after being made redundant; others wanted to adapt to changing industries, including the impact of AI, while some had spent years working for someone else before deciding it was time for a change. Participants have gone on to launch businesses in photography, flower delivery, copywriting, hot sauce production, facilitation training, wellbeing coaching, and many others.
One local resident who joined the course in January 2026 said, “I learnt so much within a supportive and fun community. It built up my confidence and skills. It’s helped me test ideas and take each step in my own time.”
Another said, “I would likely not have made my business a reality without it.”
”Enterprising Together is free for eligible Somerset residents (excluding BANES) with incomes below £25,000, or those who meet other priority support criteria, thanks to funding from Somerset Council. The course is also open to anyone aged 18 or over, with places available from £1,950. Anyone interested who feels cost may be a barrier is encouraged to contact hello@edventurefrome.org to discuss available options.
