The Ladies section at Orchardleigh Golf Club have recently held their Invitation Day.
It was much enjoyed by the twenty or so lady members and their guests who took part in the 4BBB competition. The weather was fine and sunny and after the golf, the ladies all tucked into a carvery lunch at the clubhouse. This was followed by the presentation of the prizes.
1st prize went to Sonia Probert and her guest Marie Collis from West Wilts GC with 43 pts. 2nd prize went to Ann James and Andree Williams also from West Wilts with 37 pts. The best front nine was won by Marie Cusworth and Zella Mossman of West Wilts GC and the best back nine Carol Weightman with Maureen Heard from Wetbury GC.
Another recent competition held annually by the ladies section was the Val Stringer Cup. This is a three ball bowmaker with two scores to count and was won by Sarah Doble, Ann James and Liz Attenborough with 76 pts and Lizzie Bryant, Vron Jefferies and Di Norris in 2nd place with 74 pts.
The Orchardleigh Ladies Bristol & District Alliance team this week played a home match against Chipping Sodbury and won comfortably with a 10/4 victory.
