North-West Wiltshire’s free biannual open studios, the Peacock Art Trail, takes place from Saturday 4th to Sunday 12th October and features a wide range of exciting artists from Melksham, Chippenham, Corsham and the surrounding villages.
Over 80 talented artists and makers will display a wide-ranging array of work from sculpture, textile art and ceramics to printmaking, photography and carpentry.
“There’s something for everybody!” says committee member Chloe Pinheiro. “If you’ve never experienced an open studios trail before, it’s a wonderful way to discover the local creative community, chat to makers in their studios, quietly browse a group exhibition or learn a new art form in one of the many workshops on offer!

“The Peacock Trail starts in Corsham, and flows out to Chippenham, Box, Melksham, Holt, Atworth and other villages. It’s a great excuse to get ‘off the beaten track’ and discover some truly unique locations.
“Among the exhibitors are Melksham local and art group leader, Joy Jefferys, who is exhibiting her intricate paintings at ‘The Pavillion’ restaurant at Wadswick Green in Neston.

“Talented Melksham resident Laura Richards will be joining the trail from her studio, as a resident artist at The Pound Arts Centre in Corsham. Come and see her stunningly atmospheric work alongside the two other brilliant artists based on site, Anya Beaumont and Caroline Rudge!”
You will find Lorna Halstead with her finely detailed animal etchings in her studio in Melksham. Nearby In the Whitley stores, Georgina Szanto will be sharing her fused glass art, giving you a chance to see for yourself how she captures light, texture, and colour in many dynamic ways.

“Check out our website: www.peacockartstrail.co.uk, follow us on socials @peacockartstrail or pick up a free exhibitor brochure,” added committee member Jon Roynon. “Keep an eye out for our pink road-signs at end of September and through to the trail dates.”
