Poetry lovers will definitely want to put Frome Festival Poetry Cafe on July 10th in their diaries as Deborah Harvey will be the special guest.
Deborah Harvey will read from her new collection Breadcrumbs which has been acclaimed as ‘witty, astute, and surreal’ and also on the night the popular Open-Mic session will have a special twist. One poet will be awarded ‘2017 Festival Poet Laureate’ – with a bottle of bubbly donated by Frome Wholefoods.
Organiser Crysse Morrison said, “Everyone wanting to share a poem will be welcome, but if you want to win the title then bring a poem on the theme, ‘That Adlestrop Moment’, which is a reference to a poem by Edward Thomas about sudden unexpected moments of delight. This year is the poet’s centenary, and the festival has other events celebrating his life and work.”
The event is at the Garden Cafe in Stony Street with readings starting at 7.30pm. Entry is £5 on the door, with no advance booking.
