LOCAL women, Clare Merritt has praised wildlife rescue charity, Secret World, for their speedy response after she saved a hedgehog who was trying to cross the road.
Secret World, based in Highbury, Somerset, provide a 24/7 rescue service caring for sick, injured and orphaned wildlife.
Clare spotted the hedgehog making an attempt to cross a busy road and rushed to save it.
“It was a tiny little thing and very cute. They shouldn’t really be out in the day so I was worried for it. It could have easily been squashed.
“I called Secret World and they sent a volunteer out within the hour, I was so pleased. It was clearly distressed and needed help so it needed to be looked at quickly. They are a brilliant charity and really deserve recognition for all the work they do. I’d encourage people to go and have a look at their set up, it’s very impressive.”
