Children at Christ Church First School spent the day designing, fixing and painting as they created a giant 3D map of Frome town on Monday 31st March.
Each class, including the nursery completed four of the giant jigsaw puzzle pieces which, when put together, created a map in the hall which measured 6metres by 5metres. The base map was drawn by the school’s art co-ordinator, Georgina Muxworthy. The children then used books and computers to research different parts of the town including the Frome football ground, the Merlin theatre, the cinema, Catherine Hill and Victoria Park. Headteacher Sarah Bullmore said, “The finished model was absolutely incredible and geographically correct! The children were completely engaged and excited by the task and the parents enjoyed coming in to view the exhibition and trying to spot their house.”
