TRUSTEES of Frome Memorial Theatre have raised £280 towards the boiler appeal by holding a pub quiz.
Chairman of trustees Humphrey Barnes said, “26 quizzers had a very enjoyable evening at the Royal Oak pub in Broadway Frome last month.
“It was the Memorial Theatre’s first fund raiser towards our boiler appeal. The evening raised £280 and our thanks go to all the supporters who came.
“A particular thank you must go to Lisa Curnow, the landlady, who supplied a delicious hot supper of beef & ale pie, her donation to the evening, allowing us to make this handsome profit.
“We do so much appreciate Lisa’s enthusiasm and help towards this very successful evening.
“You might say £280 towards the cost of replacing the theatre’s boilers (estimated between £30,000 – £40,000) is a small amount, but from little acorns.
“I am pleased to say donations are beginning to come in for our appeal, which is hugely appreciated by the theatre trustees.
“Perhaps you or an organisation you are connected with would like to run a fundraising event for our appeal, if so please contact me on 01373 463427 or email: gandhbarnes@btinternet.com ”
