FromeFM is planning to run a 4 or 5-day course at the end of August for children to have hands-on experience of putting together a radio show.
Studio manager Terry Stewart said, “My son is keen on getting more involved with the radio and we thought it would be a great idea to get a group of children together and create a show to play out LIVE on Frome FM.
“This would be run probably in the last week of August every morning and would cost around £50 per child. Look on the FromeFM website www.frome.fm for more information or email office@fromefm.co.uk to register an interest. We need a group of about six children ideally over 12 years old.”
The course will include planning, interviewing, using the desk as shown in the picture, using hand held recorders and actually producing a show to play out on the radio. Terry will run the course with other experienced radio presenters and they will be CRB checked for working with children.
