A retired special constable from Frome has published an engaging memoir about his 22 years in service in the West Country.
D J Rodgerson, a long-standing Frome resident, has written the memoir entitled Upholding the Law by Special Appointment, which is due to be launched at an event hosted by Frome Writers’ Collective and Silver Crow Books.
“The memoir is a candid and highly entertaining account of policing in a bygone era,” said Gill Harry, a member of Frome Writers’ Collective.
“The book gives unique glimpses of life behind police lines and the stories range from the ridiculous to the highly hazardous.”
There is a chance to meet and chat with D J Rodgerson on Saturday 30th November, between 11am and 1pm, at Hunting Raven Books in Cheap Street, where he will be talking to readers and signing books.
The book, published by Bradford-on-Avon publisher Roger Jones of Ex Libris, is available at Winstone’s Hunting Raven Books, as well as online.
