SIGN up for Frome’s first Window Wanderland which will take place on Friday 23rd, Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th February, 5.30-9pm. The event has already attracted almost 40 homes, shops and offices who are keen to participate in the event.
The community initiative is being organised by friends Lisa Glass and Tasmin Head, from Frome. They are encouraging all residents to open their curtains and create window displays to amuse, entertain and enthral each other for a weekend of fun. Together these windows will form a wonderful winter walking trail, which everyone can participate in by coming out to enjoy.
Lisa and Tasmin who are hosting the Wanderland to raise spirits in the darkest part of the winter said, “We’ve already had almost 40 homes sign up to create a display. We have also had interest from local organisations, shops and businesses including Frome Museum, The River House Café, The Old Church School, Postscript, Mount Community Association and Pepperbox Nursery – it’s great to see the buzz is building already.
“David Wilson Homes are supporting us to create an event map, which will be available for free during the event and Storagebase will be our main event sponsor.
“We are thrilled that people in Frome are getting on board with this fab event, so save the date and tell your friends to come along.”
This event was created by Lucy Reeves in 2015 and it was a great success and has inspired other communities to organise their own winter walking trails, which Lucy is so happy about.
