Somerset Solidarity Day returns to Frome

An event bringing together trade union members, climate campaigners and community groups is coming to the Cheese and Grain.

Somerset Solidarity Day will take place on Sunday 18th October from 12pm, with organisers encouraging interested stallholders to get in touch.

They say, “Somerset Solidarity Day is for all local people who are interested in finding out how joining a trade union can help them, or what radical campaign is just for them. We will bring together, under one roof, 30+ stalls, featuring individual trade unions, progressive campaign groups of all kinds and community charities.

“There will also be two discussion groups: the PCS trade union will present their policies on public services and welfare; Bristol and West Co-operative Party will present their case for a genuinely co-operative economy. These will be led by experienced campaigners, with plenty of time for questions and debate.

“Community campaign groups and charities from all over Somerset and further afield, are invited to book a stall for £15, but tables are limited, so please contact us as soon as possible.

“Whether you’re passionate about tackling the climate crisis, standing up for workers’ rights or creating a fairer society, this is your chance to connect with like-minded people and discover how you can get involved.

“The event is completely free and everyone is welcome. Come along, meet new people, share ideas and help shape a better future for Somerset and beyond.”

Members taking part in the event are invited to meet in the Market Place at 11am, where they will set off at 11.30am to walk to the Cheese and Grain with their banners.
