LOCAL man Nigel Pleasants has successfully crossed the roof of the Millenium Dome in London.
He set himself this huge personal challenge in order to raise money for a new electric wheelchair and for medical research into his illness.
Nigel has suffered with Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome ever since he sustained whiplash in a car injury a number of years ago. It left him with a life of constant pain and an inability to move properly. But on Thursday the 23rd of April, Nigel completed his challenge.
He said, “It went really well and it was a lovely sunny day which was great. It was a very emotional day but I am so proud that I have achieved it.
“So far we have raised nearly £1,200 but people are still very kindly donating so the amount is rising. My family have a few other fundraisers planned to raise the remaining funds, but nothing is confirmed yet. It has all been overwhelming and the support from people has been amazing.”
