Organisers of Frome’s Multicultural Festival are inviting local people to find out more about the event and get involved.
The free festival will take place on Sunday 11th October at the Cheese and Grain from 12pm to 3pm, celebrating the many diverse cultures of Frome, which is home to people from more than 70 nationalities.
People interested in getting involved are invited to meet the organisers at the Cheese and Grain cafe on 7th September from 5pm to 7pm.
One of the organisers, Lenka Grimes, said, “We are happy to see lots of new faces around the town and would love to welcome new people to take part.
“The festival includes performances, music, dance, singing and lots of stalls with different crafts and activities to take part in.
“There will be activities for children and they can learn about the different cultures and traditions. There will also be delicious savoury snacks, lunch options, drinks and cakes on offer from our international community.”
Small charges to cover costs will be made and organisers ask that people take cash.
Lenka said, “This is a successful community annual event which draws in local people from our town wanting to showcase and celebrate their cultures. The festival is also an opportunity to meet people from your own country, make new friends and learn new things about how people do things differently in other countries.”
The festival is organised by the charity Young People Frome.
