THE Frome Medical Practice has announced that at the beginning of next month the installation of a new clinical software system will be taking place.
In order for the new IT system to be successfully installed on Tuesday 3rd December, it will be necessary to implement some temporary changes during that week.
The biggest effect of the IT change-over will be that for the whole of Tuesday 3rd December the surgery at Locks Hill will be closed. On that day, all patients will be seen at the health centre on Enos Way.
The walk-in clinic at the community hospital will remain open on the 3rd December. However, a ticketing system will be in operation for the duration of the change-over.
The practice has also announced that on both Tuesday 3rd and Wednesday 4th December, the ‘walk in’ blood clinic at the health centre will not be operating.
Louisa Daly is the operations manager at the practice and she explains why the changes are necessary. She said, “We are installing a brand new IT system which means that both our clinical and our administrative staff will then be able to process tasks quicker and more efficiently.
“We are not complacent. We listen to what our patients tell us and we believe that once this system is installed and bedded down, patients will then begin to notice a real improvement in the level of service.
“On 3rd and 4th December we have endeavoured to keep any inconvenience and delay to an absolute minimum. There may inevitably be some delay, particularly at the walk-in clinic at the community hospital, but we would ask that patients bear with us during this very short time.
“For any further information on the changes, patients are asked to look at our website at www.fromemedi calpractice.co.uk or call us on 01373 300301. Patients can also follow us on Twitter @FromeMedPractic.
