After a term away from the stage, A.C.T.S Theatre Arts School is back, and with it, local young people will once again get “A Chance To Sparkle
The theatre school opened in 2011 and has run successfully at the Athenaeum centre in Warminster for 7 un-interrupted years with its founder Chris Turner – a local musician, composer and teacher – at the helm. The school found its home ever more difficult to work in, as, amongst other ‘housekeeping difficulties’, the Athenaeum became busier and busier, and so the decision was made to move out in July 2018.
A.C.T.S will re-launch on January 12th 2019 at its new venue, Horningsham hall, with current dance coach Tabitha Snell-McLellan taking on the principal role. Despite the change in principal, the same great team of professionals will be continuing the quality tuition in the performing arts, which has been the core aim of A.C.T.S from day one.
Chris will not be a stranger to proceedings though and will be there at the re-launch, he will also have regular contact with its members, ensuring that the ethos of the school continues and its strong reputation is upheld.
Taking a step back from the ‘shop floor’ of the Warminster theatre school will allow the founder to be organising exciting events and opportunities for its members. This begins with the “A.C.T.S Passionate” event being held at ‘The Civic’, Trowbridge in their glamorous Lansdown Hall, which has played host to many famous faces and is a fabulous venue to gain performance experience in. This Easter performance will be the basis to the students’ work this term and get them off to an exciting start in 2019, with further plans of performing in Warminster’s civic centre in the summer.
A.C.T.S is now recruiting for the re-launch and will welcome all young people aged 6 – 17 years.
