A DATE has been confirmed for the reopening of Frome’s main Post Office.
The post office service will reopen in its original location in the Westway shopping centre, on Wednesday 15 September at 10am.
Overseeing the reopening is the team at the Portway Post Office branch. The team will temporarily run the Westway service, whilst the Post Office continues to seek a permanent solution.
They say, “We are pleased to reinstate a temporary post office service in the town centre, this will be provided by a team from our Portway branch in Frome. Portway will be covering both branches in the interim period.”
The opening hours of the Westway branch will be Monday to Friday, 10am to 3.30pm; and Saturday, 9am to 12.30pm.
Post Office network provision lead, Antoinette Chitty said, “We know how important a Post Office is to a community and we are delighted to be restoring a temporary service in Frome whilst we continue to seek a permanent solution.”
The branch Westway closed temporarily in June this year following the resignation of operators, Radstock Co-op, who also closed its food store.
The closure left Frome with two outlying Post Office branches – Portway and Rodden Road.
