TRIO Paradis’ ever-popular first Thursday lunchtime Café Concerts at Christchurch continue this year, beginning on Thursday 1st February.
“The concert will feature Iberia, a collection of exhilarating Spanish music to warm up the dampest of February days,” say the trio.
The concert after this, will be on Thursday 7th March and will feature Daughters of the Muse: music by women composers, including Lili Boulanger, Rosalind Ellicott, Germaine Tailleferre and 12th Century abbess Hildegard von Bingen.
The theme for the concert on Thursday 4th April is Birdsong and the concert on Thursday 2nd May features music by English composers of the late 19th and early 20th century, including well-known composers such as Stanford and Elgar and less famous ones, including Ernest Austin and Dora Bright.
Concerts begin at 1.15pm and last 45 minutes; entrance is by pay-what-you-feel donation, to enable all to attend. Homemade cakes, tea and coffee will be available in the pop-up café from 12.45pm.
