Orchardleigh Golf Club Ladies Section have competed in a Solheim Cup. The Ladies organised their own version of this famous tournament by making up a USA and a European team.
They explained, “On day one the competitors went out in four balls, playing 9 holes of 4BBB and 9 holes of Foursomes. The first day was a close run thing on 5 ½ to the USA and 4 ½ to the Europeans.
“On the second day the USA team increased their lead in the 18 holes of match play, resulting in the USA winning the tournament on 14 points and the Europeans trailing behind with 10.
“The event was enjoyed by everyone who took part, especially as the course was in a great condition with this dry sunny spell of weather. The last day of play was followed by lunch and the presentation in the clubhouse.
