As part of this terms topic on Chocolate, the children of Key Stage 2 at Vallis First School invited their families to a ‘Chocolate Cafe’ in the school hall.
It was a huge success, the children made various chocolate products, served hot chocolate, showed their work about Fair Trade and how and where in the world chocolate is made. They also held various workshops making things from different countries where cacao beans are grown. The morning finished with the children coming together to sing a spanish song all about chocolate.
Key Stage co-ordinator Adam Summers said, “The children have thoroughly enjoyed this topic and to be able to show their families what they’ve been learning about in this way was wonderful.
“We are very grateful to those families for coming along and helping us to raise just over £100 for the school in donations.”
