ELECTIONS will be held next week to choose the first Avon and Somerset Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) who will replace Somerset Police Authority.
The first PCC will be voted in by members of the public at polling stations across the county on Thursday 15th of November. Details of where to vote are on your polling card, which should have been sent out at the end of October.
At the moment, Avon and Somerset Police Authority is currently in charge of the Somerset police force.
However, the authority will be scrapped in favour of a PCC, who will be responsible for setting priorities for Avon and Somerset police force, overseeing the budget and hiring the chief constable.
