THE wait was finally over for cinema-goers in Frome last month, as the Westway cinema opened its doors to the public after an ambitious redevelopment.
Showing all the blockbuster movies, the Westway Cinema is back within the heart of Frome, much to the delight of local people.
The decades-old independent cinema has been given a new lease of life by new owners Pat and Beryl Scott, who have spent the last four months extensively refurbishing the building.
Pat said, “The opening went really well and we had no major problems. The last few days have been fabulous, I’m so proud of all the staff, they’ve worked so hard to get everything ready. A few of the staff haven’t worked in cinemas before, but they are learning quickly. It’s been a fabulous few days and we’ve been really busy. The support from local people has been amazing and we’re looking forward to seeing you all very soon.”
