YOUNG artists in Frome were given the opportunity to work alongside graffiti artist, Tom Sturgess, to create a mural for Frome Town FC.
Frome Town FC said, “We are delighted to reveal the final images of our street art mural, the result of our community art programme – we hope that you like it and come check it out soon.
“The programme, created in line with Tommy Taf, welcomed children of any age to learn about street art and have the opportunity to contribute to our mural that is across the main wall in front of the clubhouse.
“The main messages centre around bringing the generations of Frome Town supporters and new fans together. The mural draws on the older nicknames for Frome (Dodge), up to the recent ownership of the #BA11 campaign. Whilst at the same time, promoting the Robin, a symbol of not just the men’s and women’s teams, but that of our youth team Frome Town Robins.
“In addition, we wanted to remember players that have graced Badgers Hill and left our fans with amazing memories, so a select amount of names from Cheeseman to Walkey have been added to show our appreciation. The aim was also of encouraging younger generations to find out more about the teams that have gone before.”
Gary Collinson, operations director said, “This mural was a collaboration between Frome Town Football Club and Frome Town Council in conjunction with leading graffiti artist, Tom Sturgess, to provide local youngsters to produce a stunning piece of artwork with meaning, and under guidance. Everyone involved enjoyed another #BA11 project and hopefully we can expand it in the future.”
